Christmas may be a bit different this year. We might not be able to gather together for Christmas lunch; children won’t get to perform in their nativities for parents and grandparents and we will most likely be told to stay safe, stay home.

During the last eight months ‘home’ is a word that we have heard a lot and where many of us have spent more time than usual. A safe place to call home has never been more important. But for many, this winter will be their first without a home. Each day approximately another 50 people become homeless here in Northern Ireland, and we only expect this to rise with the economic impact of coronavirus.

But thanks to support from people like you, Simon Community NI will be here to help those most in need this Christmas and beyond. Last year, because of your help, we:

  • Supported 3,685 people who were homeless
  • Welcomed 153 young people aged 16-25 to our three dedicated youth homelessness centres
  • Enabled 106 young people supported to successfully live independently or reconnect with family

Each night this December, Simon Community will provide 388 warm, safe beds for those with no home. They will be adults, children and families, all anxious and frightened for their future. We will provide them with vital shelter and support when they need it most, saving and rebuilding lives.

We need your help to make their Christmas a little brighter. If you can, please consider supporting us this Christmas.
