Secondary Schools

Our dedicated Schools Coordinator will visit your school and deliver a powerpoint presentation with the opportunity for pupils to interact. This can be in an assembly for the entire school or as part of a class lesson in citizenship, LLW, Religious Studies or English. The presentation will aim to change the stereotypes held around homelessness and allow a more comprehensive understanding of homelessness in Northern Ireland.

Every year we welcome more than 1,000 young people through our doors, providing them with warm, safe beds and daily ongoing support throughout their homelessness.

Last year over 2,800 young people aged 16-25 were recognized as homeless in Northern Ireland.

The Simon Community presentation was so informative – at the right pitch for teenagers. What really struck a chord with our young people was that this is a real problem in N Ireland and it can happen to anyone regardless of age, gender or background.
