Simon Community's Robin Arbuthnot and Jim Dennison announce their participation in charity's One BIG Sleep Out

This November, NI’s leading homelessness charity is encouraging people to challenge their boss to swap a cosy bed for a night sleeping out at Stormont.

Back by popular demand and proudly sponsored by Blue Clarity Design LTD, Simon Community’s award-winning One BIG Sleep Out will be taking over Stormont on 7th November.

This year, the charity is hoping to get even more individuals and businesses involved by announcing their Bet your Boss challenge – an opportunity to grow awareness and excitement for the event by getting decision makers within NI’s business world involved.

Putting their money where their mouth is, staff and clients at the charity have challenged their own Chief Executive, Jim Dennison, and Director of Human Resources & Organisational Development, Robin Arbuthnot, to give up their beds for the night and raise funds to help Simon Community continue to provide shelter and support for those who need it most.

Speaking of the challenge Jim Dennison said:

While One BIG Sleep Out could never replicate the real emotional and physical difficulties of truly experiencing homelessness, it is an opportunity to raise awareness and vital funds needed to allow our charity to continue in our lifesaving work. By challenging your own boss, you’ll help motivate the whole workplace, create some friendly office competition and help make this year’s sleep out even bigger and better.

On the night, participants will have the opportunity to network with representatives from a range of business sectors whilst enjoying a complementary barbecue, live music from local performers and a hot breakfast roll the next morning.
