What is it like living in a Simon Community Project?

  1. Will I have privacy and my own room?

    You will have privacy and your own room.

  2. Are meals provided?

    You will have access to a kitchen where you can do your own cooking. If cooking isn’t your favourite pastime, don’t worry, staff will help you with some ideas until you get the hang of it.

  3. Are there washing facilities?

    There are laundry facilities on all sites.

  4. Are there any rules for staying with Simon Community?

    We do have some rules, which we hope will ensure our projects are safe, friendly and relaxing places to be.

  5. What about my friends and family- can they visit?

    Yes but some projects have different arrangements for visiting, particularly with regard to children- just ask staff about visiting.

  6. How much does it cost?

     

    During your initial needs assessment we will help you work out whatever costs you may have. You may be entitled to Housing Benefit which we will help you apply for. However, depending on your benefit entitlement or employment status, you may have to pay rent for your accommodation.

  7. How long can I stay?

    We want to help you return to independent living as soon as you are ready.

    Staff will continue to support you after you leave and are living in your own accommodation- if you wish.

  8. I think I may need help with some problems I have, can you help?

    Our staff will talk to you with anything you may need help with and can assist you in contacting the right people.

  9. If I have a complaint about the project, what can I do?

    When you arrive we can tell you how to make a complaint, if you are not happy about any aspects of your stay with us.
